I don't wish to sound negative or cast aspersions on OSS desktop contributors, but I was reading the discourse around a proposal to switch Fedora's default desktop to KDE Plasma instead of GNOME. I'm sorry, but nothing about this appeals to me:

I'm sure KDE is supremely capable…yet I have zero inclication to use it. Maybe it appeals to old-school Windows users? (Which I'm most certainly not.)
GNOME's UI is the *only* reason I now take a keen interest in desktop Linux!
