I only mean "like potatoes" in the sense that you'd need a particular reason (and there is one) to grow from literal seed rather than (in the potato case) a tuber. I.e., do they senesce after a number of generations or some such. Sounds like no, that's just how alpine strawberries propagate if I'm following Zealist.
