It's got me thinking lots about rural culture, where I live and grew up, and politics, and gender.
I think 90% of the people who live in these places are open and excepting, if maybe a bit ignorant and propagandized.
I'm stating the obvious here in this venue, but here's what I'd tell those people, as a trans person, if I could:
The hateful don't have the power to do to us what they really want to do to us, and they're appealing to you to give them that power. You are the only thing standing in their way. Please, stand in their way.
