book to disappointing TV/film adaption
The Hobbit.
Rather than disappointing, I’d call it an inflated abomination.
All that made the story bloated, meaning two-thirds of the 3-part film, was invented & had nothing to do with the book. Even the dragon couldn’t match that level of corporate greed.
The true tragedy is that the actual Hobbit tale is buried & forgotten in the mass of extraneous characters & pointless action sequences.
