Hm. In Star Trek Voyager we learn that 7of9 was assimilated by the Borg roundabout 20 years earlier when her parents tracked a cube-ship until they were noticed and got on the Borg’s to-do-list
But that was more than ten years before Q tossed the Enterprise halfway across the galaxy to introduce humanity to just one of the unwieldy threats that waited for us out there
So the Hansens could not have heard of the Borg, and they would not be able to reach Borg space with their unsophisticated ship
