me: all right, so i'll try firing up Ardour - the premier audio production suite on Linux - and hm, there's no Pipewire support. i guess i'll try PulseAudio. hmmm, why can't i see the 8 input channels on my audio interface? i set Pipewire to the Pro Audio mode, so it should expose each channel... hmm... seems to work with the ALSA driver, but no audio from other apps while i'm using that, unfortunately...
