About two months ago, one morning I tried putting on my favorite pair of jeans and they did not fit. I knew I had been fulfilling my genetic destiny by becoming curvier as I grew older, but these particular pants not fitting was an insult I could not take. The past few years of Covid and then months of grief after my mom’s passing did not help.
