"content": "English physicist and radio astronomer Bernard Lovell was born #OTD in 1913.\n\nHe is best known for his contributions to the development of airbone radar (particularly on the magnetron) during World War II. He was also the founder of Jodrell Bank Observatory. The centerpiece of the observatory was the Lovell Telescope, completed in 1957. At the time, it was the largest steerable radio telescope in the world.\n\nhttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bernard_Lovell\n\nhttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lovell_Telescope\n\n#radar #astronomy #science #technology\nhttps://files.mastodon.social/media_attachments/files/113/057/349/447/223/233/original/da70265d0ab044e5.jpg\n",
