Hard disks aren't it - especially SSD's. It's recommended you fire up a hard drive at least once per year, and move the files to different locations on the disk. Otherwise bit rot slowly sets in. \nArchival grade DVD's last longer,, but reliably 10 or 20 years? mixed results.",
