Excess mortality in the EU in July.
I's a mixed picture and covid is likely implicated, but Malta, Cyprus and Greece stand out, probably for a different reason.
"In July 2023, fourteen EU Member States recorded excess deaths and among those, the highest rates were observed in Malta (53.3 %), Cyprus (20.4 %), Greece (19.6 %) and Ireland (13.7 %). The high values for Malta, Cyprus and Greece are very likely related to the heatwaves in that month."
This is the #ClimateCrisis killing and we can see it in the news and the stats now.
It gets worse until we stop burning fossil fuels, and the more we burn the faster it gets worse.
