To this day, one of my favourite Mac tricks is the ability to select and edit parts of text on multiple lines at once. To do that, just hold down the Option key and draw a selection rectangle with the mouse, and suddenly the cursor is active on all of the lines at once. It works in most apps that use the system text editing APIs.

Take this example of four lines of JavaScript, where I want to change a variable name. I can of course do a find/replace, but sometimes this is just much faster 💪
