With AI (we should really use ML IMO), it's actually got applications that other things don't solve well enough yet. The problem with ML is that people are acting like it's a panacea for *EVERYTHING* rather than the sort of specific tool it's good for, and that's leading to a lot of poor applications that is poisoning the well.
