It's the core of our problems here. All our issues with moderation and scolding arise from the fact that a few people are now able to do crap online that they wouldn't get away with without repercussions offline. Most of us will never do this shit cause of our empathy, at least once we understand the issues involved. But a few unconstrained jerks will ruin any party.
