Another disappointing day of medical specialists. This neurologist spent about 20 minutes talking over both of us, not listening to what we said, and then said "Well, go gather all the records from your previous neurologists, and come back with them in six weeks." And I said "EMR (electronic medical records) are a thing. I can have all of those reports sent to you, including imaging. You were supposed to have requested them a month ago."
And he said "No, I want you to go get paper records from all of them, so I can read them more easily."
This would require at least two work days on my part, just for driving around, when EMR has been protocol for a decade. And I said as much, and he said "Oh, you're a doctor?" and at that point, I realized I was going to have to start all over again trying to find a neurologist who will take the time to find out what's wrong with my kid.
I'm so incredibly frustrated with American current healthcare.
