I wonder why we don't see more blended 2D + 3D animation like the style used in _My Little Pony: The Movie_. It looks real nice!
Is it just prohibitively expensive? I know Futurama also extensively mixes 2D hand-drawn animation and 3D CGI, and they're doing it for a TV show...
(Futurama also got cancelled like 3 times and counting, so... hmm...)
