The medical system is overworked and underfunded, so are the sciences, and because of the general stress present across society there's little incentive to go above and beyond, and doctor-patient relationships are often hostile because they're all on edge on both sides of the table.\n\nAt the end of the day, everyone would do the minimum at their job if they can get away with it and don't particularly care, especially in crises.",
