Marvel comics licensed Star Wars around 1978. They integrated the Empire Strikes Back from the movie into a comic version right in the middle of the publishing run. THEN....it got interesting....the story basically took each of Vader's hired bounty hunters, split them up, and had the remaining heroes track Han Solo down across the galaxy. So there are A LOT of REAL and COOL comic book star wars stories right before the opening of Return of the Jedi. JUST MAKE THEM INTO TV EPISODES!
