Sometimes it is such a trip talking to my boomer parents. My mom's dad went from one odd job to another all his life and raised eight kids on a single salary - they were not rich. When my mom and her first husband got married right after high school they were given a house by her older sister and her sister's husband. A spare house they had bought as an investment "But it was run down and in a scary, bad part of town, you should have seen it." Yeah, no, this does not at all compute for me.
