Suddenly, that whole AI COBOL to Java thing makes perfect sense: Ellucian, developers of an enormous suite of software aimed at universities (in the US at least) is sunsetting support for COBOL processes on October 1st, and given their popularity...yeah.
Either that or I completely missed some other news that's related, but I just got an email from Ellucian Support to my work email reminding of the upcoming change.
