I can't see real big tech giants ever decentralizing, just ones that are already on the decline in hopes of reviving. It's too much for big tech to risk losing all that power and control. Once the majority of people get introduced to the Fedi and learn they can move to other servers freely and be free of big tech abuses, nothing's going to keep them there.
