Kid who came to see my planetarium last autumn showed up to the same library today to see it again and informed me that he checked it out himself and he's confident now that the planet is round, rotating on an axis and moving at a predictable speed.
His Dad was like "tell Okie how you did it."
The same way our ancestors did. They observed the sky over time and wrote down what they noticed.
