...and now we're re-instating our previously fired probes...
I work at one of the National Labs where our scientists have a three year probationary period. Ten days ago we fired hundreds of people. Many of our research projects involve partnerships with private-sector companies and trade groups, which rely heavily on our research output. Many of these stakeholders marched on Washington last week, visiting their congressional representatives and administration officials. This week we've been re-instating many if not most of these employees. Trouble is, their access credentials were revoked and it looks like it will take weeks if not months for new credentials to be issued. That means no computer access and very limited access to research facilities. In other words, the new administration is killing it in the efficiency department so far....
