Yes, it most certainly does. The narrative fed on MH370 about it turning around and going to the South Indian Ocean is horseshit and fabricated. That plane was shot down, either by accident or on purpose, between IGARI and BITOD.
If you want to know the truth, read the official report, the ATC comms and there you will find your answer. Everything else is bullshit fabrication to cover up the incident because it was a plane of Chinese nationals that was shot down in the South China Sea during high contentious South China Sea period (2014 they were building islands) - so IF this came out PUBLICALLY it would cause huge contention, not between the USA and China, but say between Thailand, Malaysia (look how scared this dude is for example) and China.

So, they covered it up (quite easily too because the pilot was a OG pilot and managed to crash the plane relatively whole). It crashed near Cambodia in the Gulf of Thailand and was easily retrieved due to the large contingent of military vessels used for the operation Cobra Gold. However, this wasn't so easy as parts we spotted using Tomnod services, which the UK government used to track and collect any debris left over or not found. Clean up was done within a week, and already by they the narrative to look South was created to divert media attention and search attention so they could effectively clean up.
Plane parts, luggage and human remains were taken to diego garcia for processing (but could also be due to the cargo the plane could have been smuggling).
All in all, it was a hush job. Two months later, it's identical batch sister, MH17 is shot down in Ukraine in a public incident, almost as a nod to MH370. Tit for tat? who knows.
