#WritingWonders 30/8. Have you ever planned to kill a character and then not done it?
I killed two pets in the WIP and the blowback from the betas was so hard I reprieved them.
They were real characters so it's wasn't authorial cowardice, it was recognising I had got it wrong.
I think I toyed with killing Gene in a very early draft of Our Child of the Stars but there was a lot of weird stuff in the zero draft.
There was a passage in the voice of the patchwork quilt - maybe it was God? ?? !
