People do not realize that this empathy has limits, and if it is not nurtured in the same way, like a garden, it withers. Most people take this for granted and then wake up wondering why it isn't there anymore. When people only appreciate things after they had lost them is kind of disheartening, yet a valuable lesson they can take moving forward; often not with the person that opened their eyes. You may be their lesson. But you don't have to be the one who deals with the punches.
AK, I hope moving forward we find those who elevate us as much as we elevate them. More reciprocity. Less tolerating behaviors because we have hope. (This is my own lesson)
