Something that bothers me is that some of the people involved in making this crap are smart enough (and have enough specialized knowledge) to *know* it isn't true.
I can only conclude that they rationalize that always telling the truth is too confusing for the masses if it might alienate those masses from the 'correct' morals.
Science denial can get very elaborate & technical sounding. But mostly, just enough to form a comforting smoke screen to calm the doubts on non-experts. 2/
