Yesterday on old-people social media I saw where somebody had tried to call fact checking into disrepute by photoshopping a ludicrous "fact check: false -- there is no evidence that people ever [did stuff that people routinely did and everybody over 50 remembers]" fact-checker report onto a history nostalgia meme. It was basically catnip-scented brain poison for old people, designed to make them think "those damned fact checkers are idiot kids who don't know anything."
