well, I thought, incorrectly, that a lot of Nostr users were initially rejected in Fediverse and found their way to Nostr. That's my mistake.

Let me explain.

Fediverse is similar to Nostr, yet less censorship resistant.

There are servers here that are called instances that host users and data (posts, photos, accounts, videos, etc). The private and public keys are stored and kept by the server instead of the individual user.

The biggest difference for me, is the amount of people. Theres about 15 million people here and Threads will be integrating soon which will be a lot more. Also, there's a third party bridge to Bluesky that just launched.

As you can tell, it's less censorship resistant because the servers host the public and private keys, not the end user.

Also, there's no way to directly pay creators like there is on Nostr with Lightning.
