I encourage you to tell everyone on Mastodon social asking for a higher default character limit that, but actually provide them with links to other projects so your post will actually be helpful to the newcomers. Also, I'd love to see what your response is to other *microblogs* that have a default character limit of 2,000 or more. Do you think projects with a higher character limit by default like GoToSocial need to be more like Mastodon? Lastly, just because you have a large character limit, that doesn't mean you use it all.
