No one is surprised by it. It’s a power play by men in dresses who get off from forcing women to pretend to believe they aren’t men.
IIRC, that stat is misquoted and it’s actually that women in same-sex relationships are more likely to have *ever* experienced DV, ie that they often experienced it in previous, mixed-sex relationships (and thus are now sticking to women). Not something I’m particularly knowledgable on, though: can anyone clarify?
