No, I get it. That’s exactly what I tried to do, but I still had those feelings creep in. It’s a very hard feeling to shake, especially when you know how limited of an opportunity it is to do something like that. Some folks are gifted in that they have the resources and abilities to craft out spaces at home to where they may not need events like that. I don’t. I don’t necessarily live paycheck to paycheck, but I have bigger priorities and live my life in a different way than they do. I understand that’s the life I chose and lately I’ve been leaning back into my little side more, but it’s still a very resource-heavy life, and I don’t know that I’ll ever have the means to do so without making considerable sacrifices elsewhere. So all I can do is try to make connections with others, try to experience their spaces, and try to get into events like this. Like I’ve said before, it’s lonely being someone like me.
