It is. I still remember a buck walking down the trail ahead of me once. I often see ducks in irrigation ditches. The river is on three sides here so this is a bit of a peninsula. The irrigation water flows across and back into the river. Last year, I glimpsed a beaver in the ditch, the only one I’ve ever seen in the wild before.
