With the current #reddit exodus, there are lots of new #lemmy instances popping up and I think that is great. But...
I have seen some of the larger instances having tech problems and downtime. I worry about who is running those instances. I've been a #sysadmin focused mostly on #linux for over 25 years and I don't have enough faith in my skills to ask others to trust me with their online presence.
Even though it seems like overkill, maybe I'm better off hosting an instance just for me?
