Also having seen a lot of different kinds of administrators I'd say it's just way too complicated for any production deployment.
Because of that I'd even prefer a syncthing mirroring the data onto multiple disks with standalone filesystems...
You really don't want to have someone that doesn't fully know how to handle btrfs even look at it when data is at risk...
