Social sciences are not my field and I read through quickly so apologies if I’ve missed it: when you speak about historical costs of doing business (gifts to elders etc..) I was immediately curious about how does it relate with mining costs (and exchange rate of bitcoin for actors who can’t mine)

I’d argue yes, without proof of work and mining Bitcoin wouldn’t be effective!
