In reference to Sweden, the law is called Totalförsvarsplikt. I wonder how many other countries have something like that.
Ukraine is the opposite, barring all men 18 to 60 from leaving the country, and they're even trying to get European authorities to help them enforce it, seeking men who already live abroad as well as dropping the age ranges. Women with certain specific educations are supposed to register, but it's mostly been ignored or postponed.
