I know the claims already, they are wrong. Adult men who wanted to be anally penetrated were stigmatized. However, most men would engage in penetration of other men, especially of "neotenous" males (kids and teens before they grew beards and other over masculine features). This was expected from men. They didn't think in terms of homossexual behavior vs heterosexual behavior, these concepts didn't exist, "homossexual" and "heterosexual" didn't even exist in the christian period, these terms were invented recently to describe a percentage of the population who would have strong homossexual tendencies even in environments that would strongly discourage this. They used to be called "sexual inverts" before that. Many ancient people, including the greeks, only thought in terms of who penetrates and who is penetrated instead. Those who penetrated were men and those who were penetrated were not men. These were societies centered around adult masculine men. Kids (of both sexes) slaves (of both sexes) and women were all considered "non-men" and thus were part of a lower social category
