Every culture's food can be cooked better on gas than on electric.
I think that there is a TON of potential for induction, but unfortunately induction hobs that are competitive with gas are way too expensive for most people to purchase. So long story short, I do see gas cooking phasing out at some point as that technology improves and becomes cheaper, but you are simply wrong at the moment.
