I have lupus and a trans kid with autism. No country wants old sick people, and who could blame them? But also autistic is a hard stop on a lot of countries that might otherwise be an escape route. And it’s not like I could just dispose of generations of stuff, sell my house and go jetting off to the great adventure.
But I tell you what, I sure do wish I’d gone in my 20s.
