Kids. Get your parents a pi-hole for Christmas, but install it long before then. Do it as soon as possible. If you can't do a pi-hole, make sure to get your parents using Firefox paired with ublock. Even better if you do pi-hole + firefox.
Educate your parents on why using the Facebook app is dangerous (it acts like a browser, but lets all the ad shit seep in in). Educate them on scams and how to "trust but verify".
Talk to them about how an ad can say "You've been hacked" and not be true.
