Wastewater testing the way they're doing is no more meaningful than looking at IFI indicators from hospitals. They represent mixed sources and we've got no way to unscramble the data to know if the H5N1 fragments being seeing are from cow shit, bird shit on the street and roofs or are representative of human spread.
It would make good sense to me to establish nationwide monitoring of hospital sewage outflows as a part of ongoing PH pandemic disease prevention.
