The problem is Austin isn't even involved, it stops being a proportional response when Austin isn't even siding with that crowd. He has just not explicitly voiced disagreement to those people. (Something he should do and something I'm trying to do.)
I get momentary lapses in judgement, but based on previous events, I doubt goethe would apologize, even when more calm and rational.
