Actually think the impossibility of deleting notes on nostr is a net positive for people who worry about posting things they might later regret.

If you post something on Twitter and later regret it, you can delete, but if someone screenshots it, you’re screwed. So you have people posting recklessly because they have this out, and it turns out, actually no, they’re on the hook anyway.

But with nostr, you don’t have that out, so you will be more careful. Over the long run, you will post fewer things you regret.

(Personally anything I put on the web (email, text, social media, etc.) I assume will eventually become public.

Consequently, I only tell the really really dark, super wrong jokes in person to based people I trust.
