Fact is, Bitcoin is an open, decentralized network. Just because these guys call themselves Core doesn't mean we have to believe them. Anyone with the chops can write their own Bitcoin software and connect it to the network. Todd and Lopp could start their own bitcoin software with whatever rules they want. What's stopping them? Anyone who agrees could run it.
Isn't the real issue that development is largely centralized.? This is a problem caused largely by the end users choosing to mostly run one solution. We can change it if we want.
