Generally, both men and women, not all, but a significant portion of us, seek, out of laziness, the security that power gives us, thus feel attracted to people who are famous and/or wealthy. If ugly and poor, wisdom, as it is humble and doesn't translate into power, isn't attractive. So unless there is an attraction and expectation of gain, not just men and women, but people altogether abstain from interacting. You would rarely see people going to someone to learn something if it isn't practical to them in the short term and translated to power.
