Yeah, I should say that my friends leaving Facebook aren't doing so because of strongly held convictions about data ownership. Just coz their feeds are getting more boring and ad-filled, their lives are getting busy with babies and jobs, and the general feeling that the whole scene is played out really and there's no point posting there anymore coz there's fewer and fewer people left there to read it.
Very few of them really had much to do with Twitter in the first place.
Agreed that this model where everyone has to trust some random Jeff as instance-admin is far from ideal.
