Persisting in a state of florid denial about his condition, my father hasn’t engaged much in organizing his return home and continuing rehab. So I’ve done a lot of talking on his behalf these past couple of weeks between managing his daily tantrums and cleaning his house.
It now occurs to me that I was always the project manager assigned to “difficult clients” back in the day precisely because I had long since honed the skills to deal with demanding, emotionally unregulated narcissists.
