Thinking of "no official government title," my canary in the coal mine for just how fast things were going to go south under Starmer was when he conveniently popped a bunch of people into the Lords in order to be able to make them government ministers.
Now - some of the appointments (Lord Timpson) - were actually good ones in terms of good person for the job. But that, to my mind, was massively outweighed by the principle of the thing.
We watched the Tories enoble convenient stooges. It's undemocratic. Now a Labour government is doing exactly the same thing. Still undemocratic.
