in terms of politics a lot of stuff can be traced back along ways. Those affects can be present in modern countries. Belgium and Switzerland have Germanic and romance speaking parts. The difference in what type of language you speak is given by where the Roman empire had power and where Germanic tribes had power. I wanted to know if there are any lasting affects to that.
