I've been learning to identify ants for a few years, but it's interesting how it's changed the way that I see other things.
For example ... the Montauk Monster. A mysterious hairless creature that washed up on a LI beach.
I remember thinking it looked very uncanny & creepy. Saw it again recently. Well. Thought "that is a mammal" (it's a raccoon apparently)
The way that I look at animals has changed. Some things just won't hit the same anymore. Isn't that neat? And a little sad?
